Marcel Rochas

Marecel Rochas was the first designer of skirts with pockets and 2/3-length coats. 1925, he founded a fashion, perfume and beauty house. Today, the house is owned by Procter & Gamble.
The Rochas house was well known for the signature perfume, "Femme". The perfume was packaged in a pink box with black lace.
In 2002, when Olivier Theyskens became its creative director, the company found recent recognition for its fashion design. In the years before his appointment, Rochas-clothes had not been considered notable.
Within his first few months, Olivier Theyskens created an "brand new silhouette for the house": French-influenced and elegant. The fashion-website style.com has praised his first full collection (Fall 2003) as "ravishing" and "nothing short of magnificient."
